The poet Gleb Gorbovsky died

The Russian poet and prose writer Gleb Gorbovsky died in St. Petersburg at the 88th year of his life, writes Literary Gazeta .

“More recently, our 85th anniversary was celebrated on our pages, but time, alas, is inexorable. The Literary Gazeta expresses condolence to the family and loved ones of the deceased, ”the newspaper’s website said in a statement.

Gleb Yakovlevich was born on October 4, 1931 in Leningrad in a teacher's family. He began to write poetry at sixteen years old, wrote songs in the army. For the first time his poems were published in the Volkhov district newspaper Stalinskaya Pravda in 1955, and already in 1960 the first book was published. In 1984, Gorbovsky became the laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR named after M. Gorky.
