Amur officials spent almost 300 million rubles on stabilizing the banks of the Amur River in an attempt to save the village of Orlovka in the Konstantinovsky district. As a result, the measures taken, according to local residents, worsened the situation even more.

In the village of Orlovka, located 90 kilometers from Blagoveshchensk downstream of the Amur, over the past 30 years, 120 meters of land has gone under water. In 2014, the river flooded 10 meters of the rural shore at once, and in recent years - the road around the village, now the water has come to the buildings. “In my childhood, Amur was very far from the village. In 2017, the Amurian authorities carried out dredging work for 176 million rubles, which, according to the plan, were supposed to reduce the speed of the current near the village, strengthening it in the middle of the Amur. After this failure, the experts of the Amur basin water control began to seek permission to continue dredging work downstream of the Amur, saying that the Chinese, who strengthened their shore opposite the village, "which" concentrated the stream of mainly Amur sleeve and supports the high levels of erosion of the Russian coast ". The Amur Water Administration has prepared a project of the second stage of stabilization of the river bank - its cost has not yet been voiced.
