Explaining the accusations of racism against Trump, Cohen, in particular, recalled his words that black voters would not vote for him, since they are "too stupid."

According to Cohen, Trump decided to run for president to “make great” his brand, not America, and did not plan to win - the campaign was a “marketing opportunity” for him. The former lawyer of the US president said he was ashamed of his work on him.

Michael Cohen also apologized to the congressmen for giving false testimonies in September 2017. The testimony concerned negotiations on the construction of Trump-Tower in Moscow. Cohen said that they had ceased in January 2016, although in fact, as the investigation established, negotiations continued until the summer, when Trump was already the only candidate for the position of US president from Republicans.

Republican members of the Committee on the Supervision, before which Cohen performed, demanded that the dacha of testimony, as they received the text of his introductory word too late. Deputy Chairman of the Committee James Jordan at the beginning of the hearing stated that the Democrats invited Cohen to continue to "lie about the president." According to Jordan, the Democrats are going to use Cohen's testimony in the struggle for Trump's resignation.
