A court in Krasnodar sentenced a defendant in the “Kuban cannibals” case to 10 years in prison.

The Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar sentenced Natalya Baksheyeva, a defendant in the so-called “Kuban cannibals” case, to 10 years in prison, who in early February was found guilty by a jury of inciting her husband to brutally murder a friend, reports . RIA Novosti

In addition, the court decided to restrict Baksheeva's freedom for 1.5 years. The prosecutor asked Baksheeva for 12 years of imprisonment in a penal colony and 1.5 years of restriction of liberty. Previously, experts recognized her as sane.

RIA Novosti notes that Baksheeva pleaded not guilty. She noted that she only blames herself for living with an unloved person and bringing him “to what he did” with her behavior. Her husband is ill with tuberculosis and cannot be in a pre-trial detention center, so he is awaiting trial in a medical institution.

The verdict says that in September 2017, Baksheeva asked her husband Dmitry to kill their friend Elena Vakhrusheva. The man listened to his wife, and dismembered the body, taking some parts of the corpse home.
