An activist of the “Association of Popular Resistance” was fined 15 thousand rubles due to participation in the action

The Preobrazhensky District Court ruled on a fine of 15 thousand rubles, which will have to be paid by the activist of the Association of Popular Resistance (ANS) Maria Nekrasova. She was found guilty of obstructing transport infrastructure and pedestrian traffic (Part 6.1, Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) during the “For Free Internet” rally. Human rights activist Eduard Rudyk told OVD-Info about this.

Nekrasova was detained on February 26 in her apartment. First, she was taken to the Sokolniki police department, then to the Eastern District Internal Affairs Directorate, and then again to the Sokolniki police department. Until the evening it was unclear why exactly Nekrasova was detained.

Police officers told the activist’s mother that a case was being opened against Nekrasova under extremist charges. Later this information was not confirmed. A report was drawn up against her on charges of obstructing transport infrastructure and pedestrian traffic (Part 6.1, Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). The activist was not charged with any extremism. She spent the night at the police department.

During the action on February 15, activists held a rally “For Free Internet.” They blocked the road in Sokolniki and walked along the roadway with the banner “Resign the State Duma.” With this, she expressed her protest against the law on autonomous Internet in Russia.

On January 25, because of the action, ANS activist Anastasia Zinovkina was detained , and another ANS member, Alexander Buimov, was arrested for 20 days.
