Ex-Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko was awarded the honorary sign “For a special contribution to the development of St. Petersburg”. The presentation was held in the Mariinsky Palace, reports Fontanka.
The speaker of Zaksa Vyacheslav Makarov during the award said that Poltavchenko "belongs to the number of those people on whom the state is holding on." Acting Governor Alexander Beglov said that Poltavchenko’s portrait was already hanging in Smolny.
The ex-governor himself said that as the head of St. Petersburg he managed to achieve a lot.
- He who does not work is not mistaken. The main thing is that there are results. Only a biased and engaged person does not see them. Thank God, we have a minimum number of such people. Nothing could have been done if it were not for the support of real Petersburgers.
Poltavchenko proposed his honorary mark to submit to the Zachs Museum with the signature “For the merits of the inhabitants of St. Petersburg,” writes Fontanka.
