Journalist Viktor Korb emigrated from Russia. He is suspected of promoting terrorism

Journalist Viktor Korb left Russia. The reason for emigration was the criminal case on propaganda of terrorism (part 1 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code), initiated against him because of the publication of the last word of the convicted blogger Boris Stomakhin. about this Korb spoke on the air of the ATR TV channel.

According to him, now he is in Kyiv. Then he plans to apply for a residence permit in Ukraine.

“I have not yet asked for political asylum either in Ukraine or in another country, until I am ready to do it. I evacuated and quite urgently, if the status is determined accurately, then I will not appear on the next call of the investigator, ”said Viktor Korb.

• The criminal case against Korb was opened on May 18, 2018. He is accused of promoting terrorism because he published the last word of blogger Boris Stomakhin, who was sentenced to 7 years on charges of public incitement to terrorism (Part 1 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code) due to blog posts.
• After initiating a criminal case, the journalist tried to fly away from Omsk. At the airport, he was removed from the flight by the FSB and the police. They handed him a resolution stating that the journalist was under house arrest.
