In Chelyabinsk, investigators were a final charge to the leader of the Stop GOK movement, whose activists oppose the construction of the Tominsky mining and processing plant. Vasily Moskovtsu is charged with incitement to hooliganism by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, the lawyer of the International Human Rights Group "Agora" Olga Lepikhina reports.

The lawyer considers the accusation invented. "The case was aroused in fact and decided to attract only when the Moskovets declared his intention to participate in the elections of the mayor of Chelyabinsk," Lepakhina said.

Earlier, investigators charged the Stop GOK activist Gamil Asatullin. He is charged with hooliganism committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, an attempt on the crime not brought to the end and intentional destruction of property by arson. Investigators believe that Asatullin tried to set fire to trees and a booth on the territory of the plant. This allegedly caused damage in the amount of one million rubles and stopped the construction of the GOK for one day.

According to investigators, the activists of Stop GOK wanted to create a detachment of hundreds of people who were supposed to intimidate the workers and interfere with the police and guards to travel to the plant.

The Chelyabinsk Ecological Movement "Stop GOK" fights against the construction of the Tominsky mining and processing plant and the development of the Tominsky Copper field. The work, according to activists, will cause irreparable damage to the ecosystem of the region.

Ecologists indicate that according to the plans of investors, the constructed plant will annually process 28 million tons of copper-porphyry ore and produce up to 500 thousand tons of copper concentrate. At the same time, copper ore is planned to be extracted by explosive work, because of which clouds of dust will rise for many kilometers around, and the acid, with which copper is released from the breed, will enter the Shershnevsky reservoir-the main source of drinking water for Chelyabinsk and the suburbs.
