"Hundred Years of Loneliness" Gabriel Garcia Marquez for the first time adaptive

The American Streaming Service "Netflix" will remove the series based on the novel "A Hundred Years of Loneliness" Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This was reported on the service page on Twitter.

The novel published in 1967 will be filmed for the first time. The family of the writer who died in 2014 has still refused to sell the right to use it in cinema.

It is also known that the sons of Marquez Rodrigo and Gonzalo will become the main producers of the picture. The series will be shot in Spanish, shooting will be held mainly in Colombia.

“Our father has been opposed to the sale of rights for“ one hundred years of loneliness ”for decades, because he believed that the film was too short for his film adaptation. In his opinion, it would be inappropriate to make a film in another language besides Spanish,” said the writer Rodrigo Garcia. His statement is quoted by Variety.

He added that, in his opinion, the TV shows are now experiencing the Golden Age, which is why there can be no better time to adapt his father’s book.
