Igor Strelkov decided to sell the medal for the accession of Crimea to Russia for 1 million rubles due to "material problems"

Former Minister of Defense of the self -proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the head of the Novorossiya public movement Igor Strelkov (Girkin) put up for sale a medal that was awarded for the accession of Crimea to Russia. Information about this is on the website numismat.ru.

The starting price of the medal is 1 million rubles, the auction will be held on April 13.

On his VKontakte page, Strelkov confirmed that he was selling a reward.

“Yes, this is my medal, non -state. I was awarded to me [an entrepreneur, the founder of the "Foundation of St. Vasily the Great" Konstantin] Malofeev back in the spring of 2014 - before the beginning of the Donbass campaign. I’m selling, because there are material problems that I cannot “patch up” in cash, ”he wrote in the comments on one of the records on his page.

Igor Strelkov has been the head of the Novorossia public movement since 2014. Prior to this, from May to August of the same year, he held the post of Minister of Defense of the self -proclaimed DPR.
