The ex-coordinator of Navalny’s headquarters was fined 200,000 rubles for a picture with “Motherland”

The Volgograd Regional Court fined Alexei Volkov, former coordinator of the local headquarters of Alexei Navalny, 200,000 rubles for a picture of the Motherland monument with a green face. about this Volkov wrote on his Twitter.

Volkov was found guilty of rehabilitating Nazism (Part 3 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, in the summer of 2017, Volkov published on VKontakte a picture with the Volgograd monument "Motherland" with a face stained with green paint and thus defiled the symbol of military glory.

In October 2017, the Volgograd Regional Court returned the case to the investigation due to incorrect qualifications. The judge considered that there are grounds to qualify the case as more serious.
