There will be no re -referendum on Brexit in the near future

The UK parliament rejected the possibility of holding a re -referendum in the near future on the country's exit from the European Union. This is the meaning of the amendment that does not allow to postpone Brexit in the event of a decision on a second referendum. The amendment was supported by 85 deputies, 334 spoke out against.

Prime Minister Teresa May previously stated that she was opposed to this and other amendments for which deputies vote today. The head of government promised that she would reject his own proposal to postpone the date of Brexit from March 29 to a later date.

On the eve of the parliament voted against the exit without an agreement. In addition, an amendment was adopted prohibiting the UK to go out of the European Union without agreements on the conditions.

The referendum on the exit of Great Britain from the European Union took place in June 2016. Great Britain joined the EU in 1973 and will become the first country to leave it. The Brexit bill provides for the abolition of the Act on European Communities of 1972, on the basis of which the country entered into the European Union, as well as the replacement of the laws of the European Union British.
