President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that tightens requirements for employees of nuclear facilities. The checks will be carried out by the FSB. The document was published on the official legal information portal.
This decree applies to workers at nuclear power plants, radioactive waste storage facilities, uranium enrichment and nuclear fuel production enterprises, ships and other vehicles with nuclear installations.
Thus, people with an outstanding or unexpunged conviction for an intentional crime, as well as those involved in extremist or terrorist activities, will not be allowed to work in such places.
Previously, the law stated that only those who have received clearance in accordance with the requirements for ensuring state security can get a job at a nuclear facility related to state secrets - the FSB is responsible for protecting state secrets .
