Participants in single pickets in support of Oyub Titiev were detained in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, on Malaya Sadovaya Street, seven participants in a series of single pickets in support of Oyub Titiev were detained: Olga Smirnova, Elena Grigorieva, Marina Ken, Roman Samoilov, Ilya Tkachenko, Evgeniy Musin and Dmitry Negodin. Smirnova and Ken reported this themselves.

OVD-InfoAccording to Smirnova, she herself did not even hold the poster in her hands and just stood nearby. However, the police said that she organized an uncoordinated “rally of an extremist nature” and took her into a paddy wagon, using force.

The officers explained the detention of the remaining activists by the book of crime reports, that is, complaints from unknown citizens. Ken added that Ilya Tkachenko is already charged with disobedience to the police (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code).

After a series of single pickets, activists planned to hold a monthly action “Strategy 18” in support of the Crimean Tatars.

Smirnova said that all the detainees are in a paddy wagon on Malaya Sadovaya Street, they are going to be taken to police department No. 78. According to her, Roman Samoilov’s phone is being confiscated.

According to information from the Detainees Assistance Group, a defense lawyer is not allowed into police department No. 78, where Ilya Tkachenko, Olga Smirnova and Asan Mumdzhi are being held.

UPD 22:12 Olga Smirnova and Ilya Tkachenko were charged with disobedience to a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code). They spent the night in the 78th police department. The remaining detainees were released from the department on March 18 at 23:50. A report was drawn up against Asan Mumji on charges of unauthorized occupation of a plot of land (Article 7.1 of the Administrative Code). He was charged with this offense because during a single picket he placed next to him a ballot box “for whether Crimea is ours.”
