The court rejected the lawsuit on the prohibition of anti -icing reagents in Moscow

The Tver court of Moscow rejected the lawsuit of the capital's municipal deputies against the housing and communal services department of the city, in which they demanded that the department use chemical reagents to combat the ice. Radio Liberty was announced by one of the plaintiffs, the head of the municipal district, Krasnoselsky Ilya Yashin.

In his opinion, during the hearing, the judge showed a demonstrative bias. She refused the plaintiffs in the forensic examination of the reagents, as well as in the interrogation of witnesses who recorded harm to medical institutions obtained as a result of interaction with chemicals - in particular, it was about allergic reactions and respiratory diseases.

The court also refused to call Sergey Sobyanin and his deputy for housing and communal services and improvement of Peter Biryukov as witnesses of Moscow mayor.

Ilya Yashin said that he would appeal the court decision.

In addition to Yashin, the municipal deputies Julia Galyamina and Konstantin Yankauskas filed a lawsuit against the housing and communal services department. As evidence of the harm of reagents and the motivation for their ban, they referred to the study conducted by scientists of the Moscow State University. According to the plaintiffs, the use of reagents violates the right of citizens to a favorable environment, enshrined in the 42nd article of the Constitution of the Russian Federation and environmental legislation. Also, municipal deputies proposed replacing chemicals with granite gravel.

In turn, the Moscow authorities have previously repeatedly stated that they would not refuse to use reagents. The Moscow Department of Health expressed confidence that they did not cause mass allergic reactions.

As reagents in Moscow, compositions of calcium and sodium chloride, sodium chloride and potassium, as well as salts of anticolic acid are used.

In the summer of 2018, with reference to the public procurement website, it was reported that the Moscow authorities allocated about 6 billion rubles for the purchase of anti -male reagents. The customer of supplies was the GBU "Roads".
