“My friend, you are a transformer” appealed in court the demand of Roskomnadzor and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to remove the article about heroin addiction

The publication “My friend, you are a transformer” filed a lawsuit in the Tagansky District Court of Moscow with a request to declare illegal the demand of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Roskomnadzor to remove the article “Heroin is the property of the model,” Pavel Chikov, head of the international human rights group “Agora,” reports in his Telegram channel.

Journalists insist that the article about 27-year-old Anna Glazova, who has been using heroin for ten years, does not contain information about the methods and methods of producing and using drugs, as well as where they are purchased. It was the presence of such information that Roskomnadzor referred to when it included the page with the article in the register of prohibited information, Chikov notes.

“My friend, you are a transformer” demands that the article be excluded from the register of prohibited information.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs decided to block the publication’s article about heroin addiction in December 2018. The department claimed that the material was “aimed at creating a positive image of drug users.” Soon after this, “My friend, you are a transformer” withdrew the text from publication.

In January 2019, the heroine of the article, Anna Glazova, was detained in Moscow . She was sent to a pre-trial detention center on charges of illegal acquisition and possession of drugs (Part 1 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code). After this , it became known that in the pre-trial detention center Glazova tried to commit suicide.
