In Simferopol, the first president of Crimea, Yuri Meshkov, was arrested for two days. He attributes this to his attempts to hold a rally on March 19 to criticize the Crimean authorities. This is reported by Novaya Gazeta.
A man and two other activists were detained during a concert in honor of the fifth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea. The police first asked for documents, and then stated that they had received information about Meshkov's alcohol intoxication. Later examination denied this.
In the police department, a protocol was drawn up on Meshkov on disobedience to the police (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
