Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev took office

The Chairman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev took office, TASS reports.

Tokaev took the oath to the people of the country during a joint meeting of the chambers of parliament.

In his speech, after taking the oath, Tokaev spoke about the achievements of Kazakhstan thanks to the skillful politics of Nursultan Nazarbayev. He also voiced plans for the development of Kazakhstan.

On March 19, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev appealed to the country's population with a statement of resignation. Since March 20, his authority has been terminated as the head of state.
