The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia for the first time estimated the value of stocks of animal, plant and water resources in ruble terms, reports . RBC
According to the agency's estimate, the cost of Russia's timber forest resources amounted to 5.52 trillion rubles, surface and groundwater - 486 billion rubles, wildlife resources - 640.6 million rubles.
Of the 23 types of wood, larch (almost 1.3 trillion rubles), pine (1.19 trillion) and birch (1 trillion) are considered the most expensive. Among the 21 species of wild animals, the most expensive is the hybrid of bison with bison (bison) and livestock (379.6 million).
The Ministry of Natural Resources estimated "non-produced non-financial economic assets" and used a comparative approach for calculation. To determine the price of hunting resources, the department took into account the amount of fines for harming animals (the amounts charged to poachers for a killed individual).
Earlier, the Ministry of Natural Resources for the first time calculated the value of mineral reserves. In 2017, oil reserves were worth 39.6 trillion rubles, natural gas - 11.3 trillion, coking coal - 2 trillion, iron ore - 808 billion, diamonds - 505 billion.
