A rally in defense of freedom of assembly was not approved in Moscow

The Moscow government did not agree on a rally in defense of freedom of assembly "New Strategy 31", which was supposed to be held on Triumfalnaya Square. This was reported on the event page on VKontakte.

The notice of the action with the number of participants up to 100 people was filed by civil activists together with members of the Left Resistance movement. The Department of Regional Security of Moscow, in response to the notification, said that another event would be held on Triumfalnaya Square at the indicated time.

The applicants were offered to move the rally to Sokolniki Park. Despite this, the activists nevertheless decided to hold their action on Triumfalnaya Square in the form of a series of single pickets.

• "Strategy-31" is an indefinite series of actions in defense of freedom of assembly, which is guaranteed by the 31st article of the Constitution. Usually the action takes place on Triumphalnaya Square. The first event within the framework of "Strategy-31" was held in 2009.
