
Participants in the working group of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, together with Primorsky experts, will appreciate the state of killer whales and belugs in the "whale prison". If necessary, animals will develop individual treatment programs, the press service of the Government of the Primorsky Territory said .
For the behavior of a veterinary examination, a group of 12 scientists was formed. It included representatives of fishing institutes, institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Far Eastern Federal University, specialists of the Center for Oceanography and Marine Biology (Moskvarium).
On March 20, experts began to work in the center of adaptation of marine mammals located in the Bay Middle and nicknamed "Whale Prison". They must evaluate the physical condition and health of animals.
Vyacheslav Bizikov, Deputy Director for Science, said that experts have already taken tests from six braids, the rest of the tests will be taken before the end of the week. A blood test will be treated in the laboratory in Vladivostok, another analysis will be sent to the Institute of Ecology and Evolution Problems (IPE RAS) to get independent results.
Detailed profiles will compose detailed questionnaires, including information about its physical condition, diet and individual characteristics. The profiles will be transferred to the consultation of scientists to make specific decisions on the fate of each individual. The consultation under the leadership of NIRO was created to fulfill the order of the government of the country.
