In St. Petersburg, a supporter of the “indefinite protest” and a participant in the “Lens of Realities” project Sergei Belyaev was detained. This was reported to OVD-Info by Alexander Mavrushichev, another participant in the project.
At the moment, Belyaev is in a minibus. According to Mavrushichev, employees of the Center “E” participated in the detention of the activist: “They are calling Oleg Shaidullin, who is already known to everyone, the acting head of the 4th department for countering extremism. They ask what to do with the detainee.”
The interlocutor of OVD-Info also added that unknown people are pursuing the operator of the project, who is supposed to broadcast live from the upcoming rally "Free Elections to Petersburg!".
Sergei Belyaev told OVD-Info about how the detention took place: “I was sitting on a bench, I had a folded poster in my hands. Two people in civilian clothes approached me, they said from the CPE, one showed the documents, but I did not remember. They tried to snatch the phone and hands, but I did not give it back. They took away the passport and first led the civilian prior in order, then a police car drove up. When I ask for a reason, they ignore me.”
Belyaev also added that the officers asked him if his relatives knew that he was an activist and how much he was paid for holding rallies. Now the man is in the police department number 22.
UPD 16:03 Belyaev told OVD-Info that the men who introduced themselves as employees of the E Center told him that if he were in their department, he would “sing differently and not smile.” After that, the young man was released from the police.
