The main topics for discussion were personal financial planning and efficient savings management, as well as stock market opportunities for novice investors. “The program of our master classes is designed in such a way that each of the students receives useful information: new knowledge, practical tasks and cases, interactive communication and discussion of problematic issues. It is very important that we can back up a good theoretical base of students with a large number of practical examples. Such comprehensive training allows students to better assimilate the material and develop financial management and investment skills,” said Vladimir Khotkin, Head of Shareholder Relations at VTB Bank.
VTB analysts also provided the audience with information about the stock market, strategies and rules for working with shares. The students were especially interested in practical recommendations and analysis of the main mistakes in online trading.
During the master class, VTB Bank announced a competition in which students need to complete tasks: solve a complex case on personal finance management, test their analytical skills and make money on online trading using a demo account and a virtual one million rubles. The results of the competition will be summed up at the end of April.
Master classes aimed at improving the financial literacy of students have been held by VTB since 2013 at the country's leading economic universities in Yekaterinburg, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don and Khabarovsk.
