The Ministry of Education and Science refuted the information about benefits for universities for participants in the Military-patriotic movement "Unarmia". Earlier, the chief of the Main Staff of the movement, Romanenko, promised the Unarmeans additional points for the USE “For Personal Achievements”. It turned out that participation in the movement does not matter.

The Military-patriotic organization for schoolchildren "Unarmia" was created on the initiative of the Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu on the basis of the Youth Patriots, which has existed since the late 1990s. In 2016, the creators of the movement claimed that more than 140 thousand Russian schoolchildren from 8 to 18 years old joined it. According to the organization’s website, to date, more than 390 thousand teenagers have already joined it. In December 2018, Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu set the task of bringing the number of unarmers to half a million.

On March 29, Romanenko said that in some universities his wards will be given an advantage of admission. “At present, we have agreements with more than 20 civilian higher educational institutions, which from this year will accrue to the Unarmas additional points for the USE for personal achievements,” he said in an interview with TASS.

In addition, the head of the UNARMIA spoke about working with military universities, "which, ceteris paribus, will provide advantages to the Unarmeans." Romanenko noted that each university makes the decision to encourage the Unarmeans independently and makes appropriate changes to the provisions on admission of applicants. He did not call the names of educational institutions, but said that their list would be expanded.

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education had to urgently make explanations. “The very fact of participation in the Unarmean movement is not the basis for calculating additional points. The Unarmean must have achievements that fall under the specified list. In addition, this foundation should be published by the university on time, ”the department explained . The publication should occur until October 1 of the year preceding the year of admission.

The ministry noted that according to the current procedure for admission to training on educational programs of higher education - undergraduate programs, specialty programs, magistracy programs - accounting for the results of personal achievements is carried out by accruing points for individual achievements and (or) as an advantage in equality of criteria for ranking the lists of applicants.

The right of the university to accrue additional points to applicants is assigned by admission to training in higher education educational programs, which is approved by the relevant order in 2015. The document also lists the grounds for this, among which the presence of the status of the champion and prize -winner of the Olympic Games, the presence of the TRP sign, a certificate of secondary education with honors and several others.

One of the points also provides for the accrual of additional points for the “implementation of volunteer (volunteer) activities”, but provided that no more than four years have passed from the date of completion of the indicated activity before the completion of the acceptance of documents and entrance tests. That is, participation in the movement can become the basis for the portfolio, as well as the diploma of the winner of the creative competition, but nothing more.

Earlier in March, Kommersant wrote that at all enterprises of the Russian defense industry, patriotic detachments of the Unarmia, as well as the youth-army sections, circles and clubs, may appear. Allegedly, a letter with the corresponding instruction of the head of the military missions of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Colonel Oleg Stepanov, was sent to enterprises in mid -February.

According to the interlocutors of the publication, this is done with the aim of developing the “Junior Movement”, the number of which by 2020 should be about 1 million people. Later, enterprises will have to report on the work done.
