The Moscow Dynamo Sports Palace in Krylatskoye will host the Russian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship in early May, reports the press service of the Russian MMA Union.
More than 200 fighters will take part in the competition, which will take place from May 3 to 5.
“For the first time, the Russian championship will be held in the capital. Fighters from all regions of the country went through a difficult selection at regional championships. The popularity of our sport is growing, the number of participants in the competition is growing. The fighters have a national championship ahead, where they will be selected for the national team,” said the chairman of the supervisory board MMA Union of Russia Fedor Emelianenko.
“This year there will be minor changes in the rules, as the international federation IMMAF dictates its terms. But this will only bring our sport one step closer to the Olympic family,” he added.
