The court recovered more than two million rubles from the ex-director of the Library of Ukrainian Literature

The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow recovered more than 2 million rubles from the ex-director of the Library of Ukrainian Literature Natalia Sharina, who was convicted in the case of inciting hatred (Article 282 of the Criminal Code) and embezzlement of property entrusted to her (parts 3 and 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code ). This was reported by the city news agency "Moskva" with reference to the press secretary of the court Svetlana Skachkova.

According to the press secretary, the lawsuit was filed by the Moscow Tourism Development Center. 2 million 386 thousand 316 rubles were recovered from Sharina.

“The statement of claim says that N. Sharina’s duties included managing the activities of this library, and therefore the claim is a consequence of her being found guilty of causing harm,” Skachkova told the Moskva agency.

According to investigators, in 2011-2015, Sharina distributed a book by the leader of the UNA-UNSO (Ukrainian National Assembly - Ukrainian People's Self-Defense) Dmytro Korchinsky, which was recognized as extremist, and also conducted "anti-Russian and anti-Russian propaganda" with the help of other printed materials.

Sharina was charged with embezzlement later: she allegedly spent 297,000 rubles from the budget on her defense and fictitiously hired two lawyers. In 2017, Sharina was sentenced to four years of probation.
