A report was drawn up against an LGBT activist because of a picket against the persecution of gays in Chechnya

In Voronezh, LGBT activist Olga Muzyka was charged with propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations among minors (Article 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a poster against the persecution of gays in Chechnya. this Music announced on her Facebook page.

An administrative case was opened in connection with the picket, which was held by the girl and several other activists on January 25 in one of the Voronezh Hyde Parks. On the poster that Muzyka held in her hands was written "We demand to investigate crimes against LGBT people in Chechnya."

The protocol was drawn up on the basis of the conclusion of an expert from Sochi, Natalya Edneralova, who noted that the abbreviation LGBT is unfamiliar to many, and therefore may be of particular interest, and “if the primary interest of the individual in the abbreviation LGBT is supported by the internal needs of the individual, then the activity of cognition in the indicated by this abbreviation direction will continue, deepen; and, in the end, such a person can move from theoretical research to the practical application of new acquired sexual knowledge.

At the same time, the conclusion says that the very phrase “We demand to investigate crimes against LGBT people in Chechnya” is not propaganda, but can be considered as “imposing information”, which is propaganda.

The examination also examined a poster of another LGBT activist who took part in the picket on 25 January. No propaganda was found in her poster with the inscription “sexual orientation is the norm” with a gap before the word “sexual”.

Olga Muzyka told OVD-Info that the day after the picket in Hyde Park, the activists were going to stage another picket and sent a notice to the city administration. At the mayor's office, they were given a warning that they could be prosecuted under Article 6.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

A few days before the January 26 picket, activists sent an announcement to several local media. In the comments to the articles, calls for violence and insults began to appear. Personal messages to the administrators of the LGBT-Voronezh group also received threats and insults.

When the activists began to approach the site of the action in Hyde Park near the monument to Nikitin, it turned out that there were already about a hundred LGBT opponents standing there. The police officers who met the girls strongly recommended not to organize a picket, as they could not guarantee its safe conduct. As a result, the action did not take place, and one young man who tried to leave the park was doused with green paint and thrown to the ground. From there he was escorted out by the police.
