The Russian skater was disqualified for doping

The Disciplinary Commission of the International Union of Skipetis (ISU) disqualified for one year for violating the anti -doping rules, Russian skater Anastasia Shakun, performing in ice dancing.

According to the ISU official website, in a doping test of an athlete, taken on November 10 last year during a tournament in the Czech Olomouce, a masking Furosemide diuretic was discovered.

The term of its removal is counted from November 10, 2018.

Anastasia Shakun performed in dancing on the ice in a pair with Daniil Ragimov and took prizes at the stages of the Russian Cup.

At the Pavel Roman Memorial tournament in the Czech Olomouce, they took first place in the adult category according to the results of two programs.

The results of the couple are canceled.

In addition, the Figure Skating Federation of Russia (FFKKR) will have to reimburse ISU expenses for the proceedings and pay for doping testing services in the laboratory.

According to TASS, Shakun refused to open the “B” test and admitted that she used fusemide during the competition on the recommendation of the pharmacy due to edema of the eye, forgetting that the substance is in the list of prohibited.

Although fusemide is not doping in itself, it is used in sports medicine to remove prohibited substances and, as a result of this, is equal to doping drugs by the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA). In addition, in some non -illegal sports, where the athlete's weight is fundamental, fusemide is used as a means of losing weight, which is also regarded as the use of doping.
