Thousands of residents of Arkhangelsk demanded the resignation of the governor, who called the protesters "silly"

On April 7, rallies were held in the Arkhangelsk region against the construction of landfills for waste disposal. The administration of Arkhangelsk refused to provide the organizers with the declared sites, but people went to an unauthorized rally, the Business Class portal writes .

According to the publication, people, despite the calls of the police not to take part in the unauthorized rally, marched, broke through the cordon and held a rally. From two to four thousand people gathered in the main square of the city.

The main slogan of the rally was the demand to stop the construction of the landfill in Shies, in many speeches there were also calls addressed to the governor of the region, Igor Orlov, to resign. Often the word "shelupon" was uttered from the stage, which the governor had inadvertently said earlier at a meeting with trade union leaders in Severodvinsk.

“I know what I'm doing and I know that I'm right! I have lived here for more than twenty years, my children were born here, and every slut, who is no one and has no name, is trying to call me incomprehensibly someone: either Kaliningrad or Ukrainian,” the governor said.

“From the context it is clear that Igor Orlov did not mean all the participants in the protests, and even more so all the inhabitants of the Arkhangelsk region. However, against the background of general social tension, these words were perceived in this way,” Business Class notes.
