The Krasnogvardeisky District Court found it illegal to conduct an environmental review of the Severnaya Samarka landfill in the Vsevolzhsky District of the Leningrad Region without new public hearings, one of the plaintiffs, Maria Podvigina, told Fontanka.
The ecological expertise was appointed by Rosprirodnadzor, its term expires on April 19, before the entry into force of the court decision. According to Podvigina, such a court decision means that the department must cancel the order for an examination regarding the expansion of the waste landfill in the Vsevolzhsky district of the Leningrad region.
The Fontanka department did not specify whether they were going to appeal against this court decision. As the newspaper notes, earlier it became known that Rosprirodnadzor plans to rely on the results of public hearings that took place two years ago.
As 78.ru reported , the project for the reconstruction of the Northern Samarka test site was prepared in 2015. The locals opposed him. At that time, Rosprirodnadzor reported that the results of public hearings that took place in 2016 are taken into account during the environmental review, but noted that citizens can send their wishes in writing.
