Parents of children poisoned in Moscow gardens filed another lawsuit against the capital authorities and Prigozhin’s company

Parents whose children contracted dysentery after being poisoned in Moscow kindergartens have filed a second class-action lawsuit against Moscow authorities and Yevgeny Prigozhin's food-supply company Concorde. This was announced by the lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) Lyubov Sobol on her Twitter.

There are 14 co-plaintiffs. In addition to Concord, the defendants include Moscow's education and health departments, another Prigozhin-owned food supplier, Vito-1, and five Moscow schools in the southeast and east of the city.

Sobol noted that the plaintiffs demand 500,000 rubles in compensation for each of the 14 people.

The first lawsuit filed by parents whose children were ill with dysentery was filed at the end of February. 16 applicants also claimed 500 thousand rubles each in respect of damages and non-pecuniary damage. The defendants in this lawsuit are also the Moscow authorities, Vito-1 and Concorde.

Recall that in December last year, the parents of children told in social networks about the infection with an intestinal infection in a number of Moscow kindergartens. At the end of January, on the air of Navalny Live, they talked about an outbreak of dysentery. The catering was allegedly organized by Vito-1 LLC and Concorde.

Rospotrebnadzor recognized the poisoning of 127 people. The cause of infection, according to the department, was cottage cheese from one of the enterprises in the Lipetsk region. The press service of Concorde stated that it would “conduct its own investigation” and pay compensation to the victims. After the incident, the company decided to stop cooperation with the Lipetsk enterprise and demand full compensation for losses from it.

The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code (production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, committed in relation to goods, work or services intended for children under the age of six years).
