The court abolished house arrest Serebrennikov

The Moscow City Court changed the preventive measure against the director Kirill Serebrennikov, who is accused of embezzlement of budget funds in the Seventh Studio, RIA Novosti reports.

“The court ruled Serebrennikov, Yuri Itin and Sofya Apfelbaum to change the preventive measure from home arrest for a recognizance not to leave,” the court’s decision said.

The ex-head of the Department of state support of the art of the Ministry of Culture Sofya Apfelbaum and the former director of the Seventh Studio Yuri Itin are also undergoing the defendants in the case. On April 1, the prosecutor's office asked the court to extend Serebrennikov with the term of house arrest. According to investigators, the accused stole 133 million rubles allocated by the Ministry of Culture to implement the Platform theater project.
