More than half of the residents of the region - 52 % - are sure that their life would have changed significantly, but they could adapt to new conditions. Another 19 % believe that without access to the worldwide network, serious changes will not happen to them. And only 3 % of respondents reported that their life will not change at all.

“It turned out that 22 % of the Sverdlovsk residents have no doubt that the absence of the Internet would completely change their ordinary life. According to this indicator, we, like Moscow, took fourth place in the country, ” the New Day press service told RIA .

Recall that in February, the State Duma examined and accepted in the first reading the so -called The law on the sovereign Internet. 334 deputies voted for the document, against 47. The bill on the provision of autonomous work Runet regulates the routing of Internet traffic. The authors of the document believe that its adoption will help to minimize the amount of data transmitted abroad that Russian Internet users exchange.

“We create only a substitute infrastructure. That is, we duplicate in case of some extraordinary circumstances, so that our citizens continue to have access to the Internet, ”Andrei Lugovoi, one of the authors of the bill, explained to the RIA Novosti agency.

However, experts say that technically this process will be very complicated.
