The RANEYGS presented the next monitoring of the socio-economic situation and well-being of the population, in which, referring to the data of Rosstat, he said that the number of registered marriages and the marriage coefficient (the number of marriages per 1 thousand inhabitants) in 2018 fell to a minimum since 2000.
Last year, registered marriages in Russia, compared with 2017, became 12.7% less - 917 thousand against 1.05 million, respectively. The marriage coefficient in 2017 was 7.2, and in 2018 decreased to 6.2.
The experts of the RANEPA explained this trend by the fact that representatives of the small generation who were born in the 1990s now conclude marriages in Russia. Improvements should only wait with a change in generations when the Russians born in the early 2000s begin to marry-and this will happen around 2025.
At the same time, the number of divorces is reduced in parallel. In 2018, it amounted to 584 thousand - 4.5% less than a year earlier. The divorce coefficient (the number of registered divorces per thousand of the population) reached 4 - the minimum indicator since 1990.
But the ratio between the number of divorces and marriages by 1 thousand inhabitants of the Russian Federation has grown recordly - up to 637, this is the maximum level over the past 15 years.
