The new president of the Irkut Corporation (part of the United Aircraft Corporation, UAC ) will be the director of the aviation industry department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ravil Khakimov. The board of directors of Irkut voted for this decision, according to its disclosure.

Khakimov was elected president until April 2022, the message clarifies.

Since 2017, the President of Irkut has also been the President of the UAC, Yuri Slyusar. His last day as president of Irkut is April 9. Sources told Vedomosti that Khakimov will replace Slyusar at Irkut.

Irkut is one of the two largest sub-holdings of the UAC , produces Su-30 fighter jets and certifies the MS-21 civil medium-haul airliner. On the basis of the corporation, UAC will create a civil aircraft holding company, adding to it Sukhoi Civil Aircraft ( SCAC , produces the short-haul aircraft SSJ100) and several other civil companies, Slyusar told Vedomosti.
