Oyub Titiev was taken to a settlement colony in the city of Argun

On April 5, the head of the Chechen “Memorial” Oyub Titiev was taken to colony-settlement No. 3 in the city of Argun. The “Caucasian Knot” writes about this with reference to his lawyer Pyotr Zaikin and member of the Board of the Human Rights Center “Memorial” Oleg Orlov.

The human rights activist was sent to quarantine. This is standard procedure, the lawyer said. “Titiev feels well, does not complain about anything. More precisely, there are no new diseases. Before this I had problems with my teeth. Titiev intends to treat them. He is under the supervision of a doctor,” says Pyotr Zaikin.

• Oyub Titiev was sentenced in March to four years in a penal colony for drug possession. He claims that the bag of marijuana was planted. • Oyub Titiev will not appeal the verdict. From mid-May 2019, he can ask for parole, which he plans to do.
