Astrophysics showed the first black hole picture in history

Scientists from the Event Horizon Telescope project showed the first photograph of the black hole in history, RIA Novosti reports .

A picture of a black hole located in the center of the Messier 87 galaxy was demonstrated during a press conference at the National Scientific Fund in Brussels.

As the scientific consultant of the Khaino Falk project noted, the astrophysicists managed to photograph a huge black hole - about 100 billion kilometers in diameter. Its mass, according to scientists, is about 6.5 billion masses of the Sun.

One of the leaders of the project Luciano Reatszola noted that the resulting image confirms the correctness of the general theory of relativity of Einstein.
