According to the Downdetector website, the system refused about noon in Moscow, the peak of complaints came for an hour in the afternoon. About 54% of users complained about the failure of all services, 28% could not enter the system, 16% indicated that they could not transfer money. The official Twitter of the bank promised that the problems would be eliminated in the near future.
“Currently, for technical reasons, a number of customers may have difficulty in conducting operations in Sberbank Online and through the bank self -service devices. Profile bank units are working on its elimination. In the near future the problem will be resolved, ”the press service of Sberbank Interfax said .
MTS-Bank users also faced similar difficulties. They reported that they know about the current problem, "measures to neutralize violations are already being taken."
The previous failure in the work of Sberbank Online was recorded on the afternoon of April 8. The bank was also warned of problems in the operation of ATMs and information and payer terminals. Then the application of the application in the normal mode was restored in a few hours, due to which the failure occurred, it was not reported.
Previously, the system of quick payments (SBP) was previously inaccessible - the main competitor in the market of transfers for the State Bank, launched in February. Operations did not take place on Sunday, April 7, due to technical problems. The regulator explained the failure by unscheduled work on the side of external telecoproopers providing a number of information resources. When conducting what operations there are problems, the regulator did not specify.
Recall that Sberbank Online uses over 43 million people, revealed the State Bank in February. Sberbank accounts for more than 70% of transfers from card to card, according to the bank itself and the Central Bank for nine months of 2018 (Sberbank does not share data on transfers for the whole of 2018).
In early April, a study by Positive Technologies was published, according to which more than half (54%) online banks contain vulnerabilities that allow attackers to steal money. At the same time, all online banks are subject to the threat of unauthorized access to personal data and banking secrets. According to the study, 61% of the studied online banks have low or extremely low security. In 54% of applications, fraudulent operations and theft of funds are possible.
