The persecution of Soviet power to the Russian Church was such that it was not to say about their faith, but even silently follow it as a feat. The new martyrs and confessors, glorified in the face of the saints did not come: believed, prayed and meekly went to their Calvarys.
“Polit.ru” recalls those who gave their lives for faith and by whose prayers the Russian Church is alive - even if almost nothing came to us besides the name.
Publications were prepared by Kirill Kharatyan (included by the Russian authorities in the register of foreign agents).

Varvara Konkina was 19 years old, in 1887, entered the Sushkinsky Nikon's Convent, where he was working on 1923, when the monastery was closed and looted. She spent 36 years in her native monastery on various obedience. According to the clergy of 1914 and 1916, the nun Barbara since April 3, 1898, that is, was 16 years old, was at the Ponomar obedience and only on October 27, 1914 (apparently, with the beginning of the wounded from the fronts of the First World War) was appointed to obey the sisters of mercy.
After the monastery was closed in 1923, she settled in the village of Royenovo, Noginsky district of the Moscow region. The closest acting temple was then in the village of Mamontovo of the same area where Barbara’s mother constantly went to services; She provided all possible help in cleaning and decorating the temple.
At the end of September 1937, the entire hairstyle and those who worked at the temple were arrested in the case of a priest Alexander Korinfsky, who was accused of creating a “counter -revolutionary group of churchmen” in the village of Mamontovo, Noginsky district of the Moscow region. The nun Varvara at that time was already 69 years old.
The investigation was carried out with gross violations of the rule of law: the arrest was carried out without the sanction of the prosecutor, the indictment was not approved and signed.
Of all the investigations in this “case,” two “fully pleaded guilt”, the four “partially”, and only the nun Varvara did not find herself guilty, and subsequently refused to answer the questions of investigators. All the defendants “in the Corinthian case” were sentenced to 10 years in prison and soon reflected. Only the nun Varvara after four months, without any additional investigation and new prosecution on February 21, 1938, was again convicted on the same charges and sentenced to execution.
On April 5, 1938, the nun Varvara (Konkina), who devoted his whole life to God and the Church, was shot at the training ground in Butovo.
