Businessman from St. Petersburg found Nazi abbreviation on the website of justices of the peace. The prosecutor's office has launched an investigation

The St. Petersburg prosecutor's office will conduct an investigation into a complaint filed by local businessman Pavel Dorosh, who saw the Nazi abbreviation SS on the city's justices of the peace website. This was reported by Fontanka, citing a response Dorosh received from the prosecutor's office.

"I needed to send a letter to the court, and I saw the email address ss@mirsud.spb.ru . I believe that it is unacceptable for government bodies to use the Nazi abbreviation," Dorosh told Fontanka.

The prosecutor's office will investigate the St. Petersburg Committee on Legality, Law and Order, and Security, which oversees the city's court districts. The committee said the letters ss in the email address stand for "court secretary."

"The electronic addresses for justices of the peace, their secretaries and assistants were generated by the Committee for Information Technology and Communications of St. Petersburg. We simply sent a request for the required number of addresses," the Committee for Legality stated.

• The Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation prohibits the display of Nazi symbols. This is punishable by a fine of up to two thousand rubles or arrest for up to 15 days. There is no official list of symbols considered Nazi in Russia.
