In St. Petersburg, police detained 11 participants in the annual "Day of Silence" event dedicated to hushing up LGBT issues. This was reported by OVD-Info and Mediazona .
According to OVD-Info, at first the activists took turns standing near Gostiny Dvor in single pickets. The last of them, Daniil Maksimenko, was detained. The remaining participants of the action went towards the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood with their mouths taped; they had no symbols. They also began to be detained along the way. According to OVD-Info, there is a minor among those detained.
Maksimenko told OVD-Info that activist Timur Bulatov, who fights against homosexuals, was present at the event. He called someone; Maksimenko assumed that Bulatov was talking to the police.
