At least 29 people have died in a tourist bus crash on the Portuguese island of Madeira. This is reported by the Portuguese TV channel RTP, citing local authorities.
According to preliminary data, all the dead were citizens of Germany. Another 27 people were taken to the hospital. Whether there were Russians among the people on the bus is still unknown.
According to the Portuguese edition of Diario de Noticias, the accident occurred at an intersection. The driver lost control for unknown reasons, and the bus crashed into a building near the highway.
Updated . The Russian Embassy in Portugal told RBC that, according to the latest data, there are no Russians among the victims of the accident.
