Participants in a protest against the construction of a dam on the Volga were detained in the Nizhny Novgorod region

In the city of Balakhna, Nizhny Novgorod Region, after a rally against the construction of a hydroelectric complex on the Volga, five protesters were detained. This was reported to OVD-Info by one of the detainees, Denis Zagladkin.

Among those detained are also left-wing activist Vladislav Barabanov, Artem Antonov, Maria Shukalovich, and Sergei Reshetov. They stood with red and black flags.

The detainees were taken to the Balakhna police department.

UPD 16:30 Zagladkin was released from the police department without an offense report. According to him, during the arrest, the police officers did not identify themselves, forced the activists into the car, forbade them to shoot video and tried to grab the phone from their hands. In addition, Zagladkin claims that one of the employees smelled of alcohol.

In addition to the above-mentioned activists, there is a minor participant in the action at the police station.
