
The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova said that there are no Russians among the dead and wounded explosions in hotels and churches in Sri Lanka.
“At that moment, there are no Russian citizens among the dead and injured, but the embassy continues to verify this information. Our embassy will do everything to clarify the information and to provide Russian citizens with information and any other support that will be necessary, ”Zakharova said on the air of Russia 24 .
She emphasized that the tourist zones were not affected by explosions.
The representative of the Foreign Ministry on behalf of the department expressed condolences to the families of the dead, wounded and “Sri Lanka people”.
The number of those killed as a result of the explosions reached 160 people, said the News 1st portal with reference to the local police. Among the dead are nine foreigners.
Around 8.45 in the morning (6.15 Moscow time), explosions thundered in three churches and two hotels of Sri Lanka. At this time, Easter holiday services were held in the churches.
