Reuters has corrected the story about Venezuela circumventing sanctions. Rosneft accused him of “information sabotage”

The Reuters agency changed the material, which said that Venezuela was circumventing sanctions related to the sale of oil with the help of the Russian company Rosneft. Information about the fix is ​​indicated in the publication itself.

The agency’s report notes that the agency cannot determine whether payments were made according to the scheme indicated in the original version of the article, references to Eurofinance and Mosnarbank were also removed from the materials and it is clarified that experts do not see violations of sanctions.

Recall that initially the Reuters article claimed that the Venezuelan state-owned oil company PDVSA, which is under US sanctions, transferred its invoices from the sale of fuel to Rosneft, which paid for them, and also received a commission and a discount from Venezuela.

After the publication of the material, the Russian company stated that it was "an outright lie, the purpose of which is a provocation against Rosneft." The company called the actions of the agency "information sabotage" and said that it intends to apply to law enforcement agencies "in order to suppress the illegal activities of the pseudo-agency" in Russia.
