Sibantracite will build a tunnel on the BAM twice as fast as the forecasts of Russian Railways

The Sibantracite group and the Vostokugol Criminal Code began preparing the construction of the second stage of the North Muysky tunnel on the Baikal-Amur highway. Its construction will begin in 2019 - they plan to pass the tunnel in five years. Earlier, the shareholder of the companies asked President Vladimir Putin to grant Sibantracite the right to priority transportation of goods in exchange for the construction of the facility.

Russian Railways CEO of Oleg Belozerov created a working group for the construction of the second stage of the North Muysky tunnel. The leaders of the relevant departments and railway departments were included there, as well as the top managers of Sibantracite and Vostokogogu. The first meeting of the joint working group took place on April 11.

“It was outlined areas of work on the implementation of the project. Meetings of this working group will be held on a regular basis. The construction project of the “Severomuysky tunnel-2” will be developed independently, it is prepared by the Vostokugol UK. At the moment, pre -design work is already underway, ”the information message says on the Sibantracite website.

According to the press service of Russian Railways, the construction of the first stage of the North Muysky tunnel began in 1975. The movement on it began only in 2003. In a single tunnel there can be only one train, in a day it misses 16 compositions. The reason for the long construction of the tunnel, the former Bamtonnelstroy general director Alexander Golyshev during the opening called extremely complex geological and geodetic conditions.

As the newspaper Vedomosti wrote, the head of the Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov previously reported to President Vladimir Putin that the construction of the second tunnel “even with current technologies <...> it will be about 10 years”. The cost of the tunnel was estimated at 260.8 billion rubles.

The publication also reported that the co -owner of Sibantracite and Vostokugu wrote a letter to Putin with a proposal to build a tunnel for his own funds and for twice as shorter - in five years. In return, he proposed to provide companies with priority access to BAM and Trans -Siberian Railway for 25 years for transporting goods in the amount of 50 million tons.

Then, according to the newspaper, the president sent a letter to the government with the resolution to "work and support."

According to the Sibantracite group, the length of the new Severomuysky tunnel will be about 18 kilometers. It will increase the throughput in this area of ​​BAM from 16 million to 100 million tons of cargo per year, as well as create about 3 thousand jobs.

The Sibantracite group combines coal companies of the Novosibirsk region - Anthracite Siberian Autonomous Okrug and LLC Vostochny and the Kemerovo region - LLC Urezrev Kiisassky. The management is carried out by the Sibantracite Management Company LLC.
