Prigozhin's Concord Pays Over Two Million Rubles in Fines Following Dysentery Outbreak in Moscow Schools

The Concord food processing plant of businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin paid more than two million rubles in fines after an epidemic of dysentery in Moscow schools and kindergartens.

The company paid the fine after inspections by Rospotrebnadzor, the head of the service’s Moscow department, Elena Andreeva, said in an interview with Ekho Moskvy.

• In December 2018, an outbreak of dysentery occurred in several kindergartens and schools in Moscow. In February 2019, the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on the infection of children with dysentery.
• Some of the schools where children fell ill were supplied with food by the Concord food processing plant. The company's representatives denied any connection with the incident. The parents of the sick children filed class action lawsuits against Prigozhin's companies and the Moscow authorities.
