About 250-260 people were killed in the terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka , Reuters reports, citing updated data from the country's medical service.

A Sri Lankan defence ministry spokesman said the death toll had been reduced to 253 due to inaccurate information provided by morgues.

Earlier, Sri Lankan authorities reported that 359 people were killed in the terrorist attacks.
