All Moscow pre-trial detention centers will be checked after the death of two Matrosskaya Tishina prisoners due to drugs

Inspections and searches will be carried out in all pre-trial detention centers in Moscow after the poisoning of four prisoners in Matrosskaya Tishina, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the press bureau of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

At the same time, the FSIN press service reports that the prisoners were poisoned by an “unknown substance,” although earlier FSIN deputy director Valery Maksimenko said that it was drugs.

The department clarified that the inspection of all premises “for the presence of prohibited items” began with “Matrosskaya Tishina”.

Earlier, on April 24, it became known that two prisoners of this pre-trial detention center died and two were admitted to intensive care in serious condition after using drugs sent in a food parcel.

An Interfax source claimed that the prisoners died after using a psychotropic drug.
