VKontakte will support IT specialists who will become participants in the public program “Teacher for Russia.”
As the press service of the social network told TD, computer science teachers in the regions will be able to receive a grant of up to 100 thousand rubles on a competitive basis. The funds will be in addition to the scholarship and housing reimbursement provided by the program.
You can spend the grant on additional training, organizing a hackathon or trips to specialized competitions for your students, implementing your own project, or participating in the VK Fellowship visiting schools - a scholarship program from VKontakte for computer science teachers who have developed original courses.
“A young IT specialist in Russia today has many options for starting a career, and pedagogy is a seemingly unobvious path. But that's not true. The school is an excellent starting platform to gain a unique experience and develop empathy, the ability to explain complex things in simple language, control the attention of the audience and inspire those who are initially unmotivated,” says Rusina Lekukh, brand manager of the Teacher for Russia program.
The public program “Teacher for Russia” attracts people from non-teaching backgrounds to teach in regional schools. To join the program, you must have completed higher education, take a free course in pedagogy and be ready to teach for two years in one of the schools in the Moscow, Voronezh, Kaluga, Tambov, Novgorod or Nizhny Novgorod regions. Applications are accepted until June 2.
